Since its inception, melodyforcharity.org has been relentless in helping spread the knowledge of music to the economically deprived sections of society, leveraging the medium of music to raise funds for hospitals and research centers serving special needs children and advancing cures for pediatric catastrophic diseases.

Nishka Rao
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Nishka Rao is 17 years old and a 11th grader from East Brunswick, New Jersey. Nishka has been singing since the age of 6. She has studied music at Music Notes Academy, Rising Stars Voice Studio and Tara Simon Studios. From a very young age, Nishka has been performing at Broadway, Carnegie Hall, community events and her school and has won laurels and awards at music competitions all over the country in the pop and musical theater categories. To name a few, Laurita Idol, Freehold Idol, NATS, MAMTG, New York Lyric Opera National competition and American Protege International Pop competition. She has also performed the Star Spangled Banner at All Star Games, Commemoration and Cultural events throughout Middlesex county. Nishka is also the voice director for a Non-profit Organization called Mocking Bird Melody where she trains singers, directs and performs for senior centers, social and charity events in and around New Jersey.
Founding and working with melodyforcharity.org has helped Nishka expand the scope of her outreach to all the beneficiaries she had envisioned helping through her musical talent, work ethic and organizational skills.
Rishma Rao
Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Rishma is 13 years old and an 8th grader from East Brunswick. She has been singing since a very young age and has performed at various events and vocal competitions such as NATS at Columbia University, MAMTG, Big Joe Talent show, school events and won several prizes. She has recently been part of her school musical-theater production Mathilda. For over an year, Rishma has been an active member of a non-profit Organization called Mocking Bird Melody through which, she has been performing at Senior centers, Churches, social and charity events all over New Jersey with the objective of providing free entertainment and raising donations for senior centers and other charitable foundations. She is the youngest member of the team which in itself reveals her inner zeal to be actively involved in humanitarian initiatives. In parallel, Rishma felt the need to work with Nishka towards the creation of a separate non-profit organization called melodyforcharity.org whose objectives could be aligned with their passion for assisting foundations catered towards juvenile cancer and diabetes research, special needs childrens’ hospitals and the like. This was how she became part of MelodyForCharity.org and is serving as its COO.
